There are days when God speaks a word in my spirit that sometimes leaves me speechless. Especially when people, circumstances and events show up in alignment with my intuitive voice. Today is transformation Tuesday & during my personal development time this morning, the quote of the day stood out big & bold. "Information leads to transformation. If you are not inspired by being informed, you will expire by becoming deformed."
As a life coach, I talk to and coach people both male and female and have found that the two most popular topics are about money or the many disparities in relationships today. Most single people talk about the many challenges they have meeting men/women & married people talk about all the issues of being married. Perhaps the real issue is a lack of knowing yourself and for those who have been in marriages and/or relationships for long periods of time, it's co-dependency issues.
I have a rather large friends list on social media and most of the posts I read, hardly ever address being happy with themselves. Most are seeking happiness outside of themselves thinking that someone will make or bring them happiness. We seem to have bought into this belief that in order for us to be happy, we need something or somebody. Happiness is truly an inside job that resonates within you that no matter what is going on in your life, nothing can get you off course because you truly get it.
On last night's show of "Belief" on OWN, there was a Jewish couple who got married based on their "intuitive voice". We can call intuition, the voice of God or simply a feel that just feels right. After viewing the show, I started thinking how most of us have been programmed with this false view of relationships. But let's face it, most people look for many factors such as beauty, body, bucks and materialism just to name a few. Although some of these factors may be important, they definitely won't sustain a relationship .
The Universe in which we live is based on the law of attraction and simply put like attracts like. If you know that you have personal issues that need to be addressed within yourself, why would you seek a relationship? Broken people attract broken people and when the relationship doesn't work out, they blame the other person. So here's the question, why would you want to marry someone who doesn't have knowledge of self? If you are mentally, spiritually & financially broken, you will attract someone with the same identical issues.
Honestly, being single can be a true blessing to you if these current issues in your life. Please don't misunderstand me, we all want to be loved, but it's best to enjoy being & enjoying yourself before a relationship. No man or woman can complete you - your mate should just be the icing on the cake. We can sometimes throw the "baby out with the bath water" so to speak when it comes to the most important matters. Here are 5 keys to identifying your soulmate:
1) Chemistry 2) Connection 3) Wholeness -which qualifies the connection 4) Divine Confirmation 5) Purpose
Immediately after posting the quote of the day, I log into YouTube and this video pops up into my feed. It spoke volumes to me and the speaker's comical way of presenting the message made it even better. It even solidifies the quote of the day because this video and the #qotd has truly transformed me. I encourage every single, married and divorced person to watch this video. It's an hour long, but I promise it will be worth your time. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
